Start Time:
Half Marathon- 9:30am
10k- 10:00am
5k and u16 5k- 10:15am

Please arrive early, there may be traffic on the way into the venue.

 

Race Packs

If you’ve entered before Friday 8th July you should receive your race pack in the post.

If you entered after this date (or haven’t received your race pack in the post before the race), please come to the registration desks from 7:30-9:30 am with your confirmation email ready and we will issue you with a number.

It will take around 15 minutes to collect your number, so please arrive early.

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us in case of an emergency!

 

Race Start 

Each race will have a warm up in the event village, 15minutes prior to the race start time.

After the warm up, estimated finish times will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation.

 

Travel

Car Parking Address:

Royal Hillsborough Castle And Gardens, Lisburn, Hillsborough BT26 6HR, located off Hillsborough road (A1).

By Car:

The Castle and Gardens are well signposted on the main roads around Lisburn and Dromore; the entrance to the car park is located along the A1 Northbound. Keep an eye out for the Brown signs along the way, and yellow ‘race parking’ signs. We will have marshals here to help you park.

The car park will be open from 6:45am. Please arrive early as it will take time for the team to get all vehicles parked. We recommend arriving at least an hour and a half before your race time to avoid any delays. Car parking is free and disabled car parking spaces are available. NB Blue badges must be displayed to use the disabled parking area.

 

Cyclists:

Our Bag drop marshals within the Event Village will be able to look after any bikes during the event.

You can approach this from the North entrance on Main street, located at the What3Words ///wipes.assurance.patio

 

By Train:

The closest train stations are Moira and Lisburn, both are approximately 5miles from the venue (12minute Taxi).

Please check local rail service times here to plan your route. Please note, Sunday services may not run earlier enough to arrive in time for the half marathon start time.

 

Toilets

For this event we will use portable toilets and the garden toilets. Both blocks will be located behind the event village. Please expect queuing at toilets.

 

Baggage

Please limit the number of belongings you bring to the event. The car park is located close to the event village, we therefore recommend leaving any belongings in your car.
There will be an informal self-service bag drop area within the event village for runners who need it.

Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.

 

During the race

We will have marshals all around the course as well as signs and arrows.

The 5k and 10k will follow km signs, and the Half marathon will have mile signs.

The course will run through the Castle Gardens, then the 10k and half marathon will head onto the closed roads before finishing back in the gardens. This course is multi-terrain.

Spectators

Spectators are more than welcome to come along and support. We do advise car sharing where possible, and spectating from within the gardens to avoid traffic around the road closed sections of the course.

Dogs are not Permitted within the Castle Gardens, except guide dogs.

 

Refreshments

There will be water provided at the turnaround point on the 10k.The half marathon will pass this point twice at 5km and 15km, with an additional station located at 10km. Please bring your own water to the event to avoid congestion on the course. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

 

After the race

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal, Love Corn, and Bounce protein ball which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

 

The Yellow Door Deli

The Yellow Door Deli Café, located in the West Pavilion will be open throughout the event, serving both their Lunch and Breakfast menus, along with a series of Specials.

If you have purchased an add on Castle Running Festival £8 T-shirt with your entry, this will be ready for you to collect at our kit stall on the day.

if you’ve purchased any additional item of RT Kit with your race entry, please also head to the RT Kit stall on the day of your race, with your email order confirmation and we will have your item ready for collection!

 

Results

Results will be available on https://results.runthrough.co.uk/ after the race.

Pictures

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race, which will be made available on our Facebook page after the race.
